Radial shaft seals are a key element for the sealing of rotating shafts against liquids and gases. The design featuring a spring, a rubber outer shell and an integrated dust lip ensures reliable sealing even at high speeds and temperatures.
Thanks to high manufacturing precision, optimal contact pressure and quality materials, the seals achieve a long service life and low friction across a wide range of operating conditions.
Products from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies are manufactured according to the DIN 3760 standard from NBR (nitrile rubber) and FKM (Viton®) materials, covering both standard and highly demanding applications:
- NBR: temperature range −40 °C to +100 °C, short-term +120 °C
- FKM: temperature range −25 °C to +150 °C, short-term +200 °C
Freudenberg radial shaft seals are designed for bidirectional rotation, providing high chemical resistance to oils, lubricants, fuels, hydraulic fluids and solvents, and are resistant to ageing, ozone and weathering
Common Applications
- Mechanical engineering – gearboxes, pumps, clutches, shafts
- Automotive industry – engines, drive and transmission systems
- Vacuum technology – sealing of rotating elements in vacuum pumps and compressors
- Agricultural, construction and mining machinery
- Service and maintenance applications in industrial plants
Typical designations / variants
BA, BAUM, BASL, BAUMSL, BASL SLX – according to design, profile height and dust lip type
