The fluorocarbon FKM O-ring is a highly resistant elastomeric seal designed specifically for more demanding industrial and technical applications.
FKM is characterised by very good resistance to mineral oils and lubricants, fuels, and a range of chemical media. The material also has good resistance to elevated temperatures, ozone, weathering, and ageing. Due to these properties, FKM O-rings are used in hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, fittings, machinery, and other industrial assemblies.
A hardness of 80 Shore A represents a stiffer version of the O-ring and provides higher mechanical stability than more common softer elastomeric seals. Suitability for a specific operating pressure, medium, and temperature must always be assessed based on the conditions of the given application.
O-ring dimensions are listed on Watto in the format D1 × D2, where D1 denotes the inner diameter and D2 the cross-sectional diameter (thickness) of the O-ring.
